Join us for Community Film Night and see Love Thy Nature by Sylvia Rokab This film is the winner of 27 International Awards. Virginia Ansaldi, AP Science Teacher at Coral Gables High School, will serve as emcee and lead a post film discussion.

YAG is a joint program between The Woman's Club of Coconut Grove and the Miami-Dade County Public School System. This juried art show allows students to be involved in an art gallery setting and win accolades, earn funds for tuition and sell their art, if they wish, to an audience of art patrons. The Woman's Club of Coconut Grove invited its neighbors to attend an open house and reception on February 28th to see its historic building, meet neighbors and learn about it kitchen renovation project. Arva Moore Parks gave a historical perspective on the building and the 126-year old Club. An art Exhibit and Sale was also held to benefit the Club's Young Artist Gallery. See photos...
Sandra Riley's solo play, Mariah Brown, was performed on February 25, 2017 for the Woman's Club of Coconut Grove's Annual Founder's Day in celebration of its 126th Anniversary! The play dramatizes the pioneer life of Mariah Brown, the first Bahamian settler in Coconut Grove. Bahamian actor, Lynn Terez Davis-Nixon, played Mariah Brown, under the direction of Rowena Poitier-Sutherland, Director of Culture in the Bahamas. Funds raised from this event support the renovation and repairs of the clubhouse, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This play is based on seeds planted by Mariah Brown, African-Bahamian pioneer to Coconut Grove. What grew from those seeds is a settlement now called Village West and its roots run deep. See more...
